Toon Doom
Toon Doom was a student Unreal Tournament 3 mod that became a colorful multiplayer racing platformer. I designed and built Sugar Death Mountain, where players race to claim the EraZor and bring it back while their opponents try to knock them off course.
Designing the Mountain
I built the level, handled its Kismet scripting, and developed most of its puzzles with input from the team. Weapons disrupted opponents rather than dealing direct damage, so the route, obstacles, and risk of losing ground were central to the competition. It was a chance to use a shooter’s tools for a very different kind of multiplayer game.
Recognition
Toon Doom was one of ten Phase 3 finalists for Best Level for a Mod in the Make Something Unreal Contest and received an honorable mention in the Best Non-FPS Mod category. For a short student project, that recognition was particularly rewarding.
